so similar....

I am hoping this is a tail...

"Mom, smell my face!"

that is what Luke said to me today...

(and after my wonderful flower smelling experience with Seth) this time I didn't hesitate...

I leaned down and took a big whiff...and said "MMMMMmmmmm you smell good!"

He then just cracked up and said.."My face smells like fart! Joe just farted in my face!!!" He thought it was really funny....

I said "EWWWW GROSS!!!"

I didn't tell him he actually smelled like a flower from his Johnson and Johnson Lavender Baby Shampoo...

at church today...someone told me I looked like...

Rizzo from GREASE.....hahahahaha

are you freakin kiddin me?

maybe it's the attitude...

walking the tight rope....

With a teenager you have to be really careful how you say things to them...sometimes it is like walking a tight rope....

"Hey, it's your turn to do the dishes.?"

"Hey, how was your day at school?"

"Hey, when was the last time you washed those pants?"

"Hey, do you know you have a mustasche?"

About the mustasche... I had asked him a couple times if he wanted to shave it and ....he didn't want to talk about it...

So I tried another approach...I just went out and bought him a really nice electric razor..... took it out of its package....made sure it worked (I even christened it on my own chin) and put it in its case all ready to go....

I gave it to him later and told him that he can shave whenever he wants to...

The next day when I saw him I noticed that he had shaved the stasche off...

spring break in Oregon

Seaside, Oregon

Joe is currently...

flying from Oregon to Florida on his flight simulator...everyone is kind of mad because they can't use the upstairs computer...the plane is actually on auto pilot right now...on hour 5....hmmmm

okay...so totally lame...

I found some Easter bags.....

Jake said...."at least you didn't use a sharpie pen"....

yeah...totally lame...

whew...what a week....

I have to confess that Easter was kind of crazy...I didn't get the big kids Easter baskets and didn't feel like looking for any in the crawl space..

So I took lunch bags and put plastic green grass in them and filled them up with candy..I even took alphabet stickers and put their names on their bag...

I did picture in my head them eating all their candy and then crumpling up the bag and making a basket in the trash can.....that was really appealing to me...

I did get the babies cute little baskets...and figured the big kids would be alright with that...

I asked Jake what he thought and he said..."it was like a....hobo Easter"...

huh....what...really?

so I guess next year, I need to put on some bunny ears and find some baskets.... and look at my big kids still as little kids....;)

Birthday lunch...

I had to go black and white so my teeth are whiter....

boredom is the mother of invention...

spring break.....

who's going to pull him?

Elizabeth is a great sister!
Hey I wonder where they put the stuff from the box?

visit to the dentist....

no cavities...

seth is sweet...

he came up to me on the computer and told me to close my eyes and smell....

there is no way I would do that...so I peeked...he said "DON"T PEEK!"

well I wish I hadn't because it was a beautiful flower and it smelled soooo good....
next time maybe I'll just listen to him....

babies turn 5!

and it is good!

Easter is this Sunday?

I can't believe it....

I heard on T.V. this morning that this is the earliest Easter ever...and that Easter won't occur this early again for 220 years...

I saw this picture on msn and laughed.....

Have a Inside Easter Egg Hunt
A colorful craft table is always a good way to keep kids busy at a party, and every egg hunt should have a bunny to lead the fun.

over the last couple months.....

I've heard "indie this" indie that" and a really good song..

the lyrics go...

Indie rock'n'roll is what I need
It's in my soul, it's what I need
Indie rock'n'roll, it's time

which are in my head...

I also saw this actress explain that she was a "indie actress" and just got back from Sundance.

It was driving me crazy...WHY is everyone saying that? I knew the new "Indiana Jones" movie was coming out...so scenes of Indy would pop up in my imagination...
or the theme music (da da da....da)...you know how it goes...

So I took my education into my own hands and googled it...I felt stupid asking anyone.. "I will use google before I ask a dumb question!"

It means Independent!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indie_(music)

If you want to be Indie click link right below...

http://www.wikihow.com/Be-Indie

here is one of the tips:

Don't throw it in everyone's faces that you're Indie. If they're smart, they'll figure it out. Flaunting it is going to make it look like you're too proud of yourself and just looking for attention. This is not the effect you want. (the actress was more of a "b" actress...)

did you land the plane alright?

Last night all the kids had come down for dinner except one....I asked Elizabeth..."Where's Joe?" and she said..."He is landing his plane." after about 10 minutes he finally came down...I guess he landed the plane alright....he looked pretty happy...

He wants to be a pilot when he grows up and uses a flight simulator on the computer to practice...(this is not a picture of it)

the pee pee monster has struck again.....

I heard "EW GROSS" from one of the big kids and found out that the pee pee monster just peed off the deck in the back yard....a couple days before one of the kids had told me he was peeing "on" the deck. I had explained to the pee pee monster that he needs to go in the potty...etc

I had walked by the bathroom very recently while he was in there and noticed he wasn't even peeing in the toilet but a few inches up above between the seat and lid......."EW GROSS"

and last week I remember him telling me that potty needed to be cleaned....

I'm glad this isn't the pee pee monster...

I personally......

cannot drive and talk on the phone at the same time...and I have noticed that every time someone does something stupid while driving they are usually talking on their phone....

So the other morning I had to drive rush hour on the freeway and couldn't believe how dangerous it was....
.
I had 5 different people .....almost crash around me...it was crazy....one lady almost came to a complete stop to get over while the rest of us were driving around 35mph...while I was passing her, I noticed she was talking on the phone AND drinking coffee.... WTH(eck)? (and she wasn't the only one....)

at least in the afternoon people have already gotten most of there coffee by then and are just talking on their phones....
.
What is the most crazy thing you have seen somebody do in the car while driving?

somethings that were said to me today...

1. Seth came into the house and said..."Mom, Luke is peeing in the backyard"....

2. Luke said....."Mom, I need a flashlight"...........
3. Seth said..."When I eat food, I make poop"....

Jake's 1st drive without parents....

Tonight Jake got to drive Joe and Carson....Notice the perfect signal and stop...I wish I was in the car for that stop!

from the DMV book...when driving with a teen....

DO these each time you practice driving with teen...(here is one of them)

*"Be in the practicing mood" Practice when both of you are ready, in good moods, have sufficient time and are well rested.

Good Mood Pictures....

I couldn't bring myself to see this movie...but..he is in a good mood...

Jake

some girl....
Luke upside down...

Toucan..

I want to drive with the Gorilla.....

On Sunday we were and hour late to church...

and one of us was going to be giving a talk....that person totally lucked out! (and didn't have to give it!)

I LOVE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME.....

I totally love that feeling of shock and delight...when it is in your favor..... or Joe 3's...lucky kid...

My luck would have been the opposite ..I would have arrived and hour early (sometime in October) and had to have sat there for an hour and realized my talk wasn't that great...

over the weekend....

I met a most amazing person...A button collector named Doris(89 years old)...I always considered myself a button collector...it looks something like this....but this is crap...(the last time I looked in my button box they were all missing anyway)...

I had no idea to the extent that people collected and then displayed their art...It is art...she had all her buttons in shadow boxes....... it looked something like these....

this one is titled "butterflies and wee people".....

this is "headgear"....

"nouns that start with C"

too cool...she invited me to her "button club" and I think I am going to go...
