Carmel...

On Sunday Carmel is coming to live with us! We are all very excited and the boys keep asking me "How many more days?" My friend Andrea is going to Haifa fora couple years and she is entrusting Carmel's care to us!

Here is Luke and Carmel when she visited a couple weeks ago...

Wafffle's is a complete nut! He is about a year and a half. He is full of energy and lots of fun BUT can drive you crazy! He is like a kitten in many ways....I don't know how to explain that...I think Carmel will calm him down a bit (maybe) and He can get her running around...SO Excited!

Mastermind Luke collecting information before taking over....

Luke asked me today:

"Mom, how do you make money?"

I replied:

"You make money by working and then you get paid money...or you can make something and sell it."

I added:

"There are lots of different jobs and you get to pick what you want to do."

He stopped me by saying:

"No...no...no...I mean how do you make money...do you draw it and can you print it on the computer?"

I answered:

"UH............................................................no we don't print money...the government prints the money..it is against the law to make money."

Today...Luke came up to me and asked me where my "scrap gold" was?

Huh?

I asked him why and he said:

"You just put your old scrap gold in an envelope and you put it in the mailbox and you mail it to the mail guy so he can take the scrap gold and turn it into money."

Really? Wow!

I decided to also ask his twin, Seth. He said:

"You take your old jewelry that you never wear and put it in a bag and send it to them and then in a couple weeks you get money."

I wonder what they would do with the money?

puzzle rules.....

which get broken all the time..

1. No Farting!
2. You can only look at the picture once.
3. If you look at the picture more...you can't work on puzzle...but you can now look at the puzzle all you want and tell everyone all about the puzzle as.....much as you like...unless you are under 10. Then you can look at the puzzle and still work on puzzle.
4. No crying.
5. Try to get the frame of puzzle done first...
6. Joe gets to do the signs.


If puzzle is not too challenging...put it together face down...

This isn't quite how I pictured them....

A senior man came up to me at the front desk at work and spooked me out....He told me that his wife who has alzheimers told him that out the window from their apartment there were people across the street dressed in black waving to her...

When he told me that..... it.... freaked me out...he said "of course there aren't any people doing that..it was all in her head..." but was it really or could she see more than us? yikes....

at least they were across the street though...right????

I was trapped at work for 24 hours...but then my wonderful Joe came and rescued me at midnight...He had to pull over on the freeway every couple of minutes to scrape his windshield of his VW bus....because his defroster wasn't strong enough....He put the chains on my car and we braved it home....Thanks Joe!

that is what my Mother told me MAYONAISE was made out of .....when I was about 11 years old!

So I have been avoiding Troll Zits most of my life...

I broke down the other day and bought some to make this recipe.......this is from Desperation Dinners Cookbook

It turned out pretty good:

2 Cups pasta (8 oz) I chose the twirly ones

1/3 Cup reduced fat Troll Zits

2 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard (Hey Mom where does dijon mustard come from?)

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

Black Pepper to taste

8 oz Deli ham cut into pieces

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 Cup peas

and whatever else there is..you want to throw in there...

Basically cook pasta, drain...add to mixed ingredients..

Nerf Wars..

I noticed we had more than a couple Nerf guns...but no bullets...

I bought a package and put them on the dining room table...I forgot to tell anyone that I had gotten them...but it didn't take long for a war to insue....

Where do all the bullets disappear too? It is mostly a mystery...But I did see the dog poop part of one out one time...poor guy

This is what my husband emailed me Tuesday....

This is what I found behind my bed....

Seth had dumped it...

I became suspicious because...one second he had a plate full of food...and the next second... the plate was completely empty....

Good thing I am on top of my game!

Takin care of business!

I was lucky enough to be standing....

at the end of the drink table when the first wave of Football Players were coming down with their plates of food....This was at the High School Football Banquet.

They each had one plate of food and one plate of deserts...packed high..I thought about each kid....... There is no way he can eat all that....But sure enough when I sat down at our table and watched my own son woof down all his food and deserts and then he was given 3 large cookies by his friend and ate them...I couldn't believe it....I looked around... each one had eaten all their food.

All the boys are lean mean fighting machines...they all spend a lot of time in the weight room..
My son fits in probably the 75 percentile..You know, out of a 100 kids he is shorter than 25 but taller than 75...

The football program was amazing and I realized how lucky he was to be part of the team with such great kids and awesome coaches...The coaches talked about each kid and their attributes and hard work..

Wherever I lay my hat.....

15 minute car trip.....no way!

We haven't driven all together in the car for some time...except for the 1 minute trip to church...But we went to the movies about 15 miles away and it was crazy chaos! These are pictures of the beginning of the trip....so still 1/2 way decent....When we are asked by someone...when we are going to come visit...I laugh out loud....

Seriously...I went to sit down at the computer and almost sat on the ketchup...I think they did it on purpose because they (the 5 year olds) have been trying to scare me for fun...I don't scare easily...and they get mad at me if I don't get scared....it is pretty funny...

As you can see our invisible plates ....can be a problem....Sometimes I don't see them in the dish washer when I am not wearing my glasses...

I am thankful for Kindergarteners...

I have been helping in the kids Kindergarten class. It keeps me laughing...A little girl came up to me and handed me a wad of hair and I thought yuk...and said "what's that?" and she said "It is Seth's hair." I'm not sure if he gave it to her to give to me or she was trying to tell me something... I looked over at Seth and he had the scissors closing in on another bushel of hair...



I can't even believe that they would have white glue available to the kids...from what I see they do with it...good thing it dries clear..
This week their teacher (who is a Saint) went around the room asking the kids to tell what they were thankful for..They are such sweet little kids...Then she came to Luke and I thought
"uh oh" here it comes....but I was lucky.... he said he was thankful for "the theatres" ...See the values I instill.....So along those same lines I have to say I am also thankful for the theatres......



and Panda Express....(too bad they are closed on Thanksgiving...)

Today I took all the kids out of school and we went to see TWILIGHT....

They did a really good job on the movie...It followed the book really good...There were some awkward moments of cheesy-ness...but it filled the need...it was very romantic...My daughter had a smile on her face the whole time...




Jake: "cheesy....but good" (something about cheeseballs)...

Carson: "no comment"

Joe: "really really good"

Elizabeth: "I'm speechless....It is my favorite movie.."


The end credits were awesome....but there isn't another scene at the very end after credits...Watch out for Victoria....
