If you love books....

you'll love book plates!

We are avid readers at our house....but sometimes I do have to pay the 16 year old to read! Whenever I have bought a book..I've written our name and date and also checked each time we've read the book in the front cover...

But I have always wanted to get a stamp for our books...

Are you hanging in there.....

like a kitten?

or a monkey....

monkey's have more fun....I want to hang in there like a monkey...

maybe swing from tree to tree...

and hang out with my family......

and friends...

I was talking to a sweet Senior lady who is having a hard time adjusting to all the changes...no car...moving into a small apartment...no friends around...and her dog was given away...because there are no pets allowed at new apartment..

She said she was "Hangin in there".... and I asked her if she was hanging like a cat or a monkey? Then of course I acted it out...She laughed and said she wanted to hang like a monkey and that I was making her silly....

my favorite couple was sitting on the loveseat where I work.....

they had recently moved in together and were talking about other residents as usual....

89 year old woman(89yow): "Are they boyfriend and girlfriend?" (like they were in high school)

97 year old man(97yom): "Yes, they have been together for a couple years"

89yow: "Why don't they live together like we do, they could each pay half for rent."

97yom: "Maybe they are still old fashioned and stuck in the old days and worried about living in sin." (then he said something about being modern minded...)

About a week later, the 97yom turned in the rent check to me and he had paid the whole thing....
Still .... only 1/2 old fashioned....

I guess I am old fashioned....

This was the dilemma of one of the seniors at my work...

His wife first came up to me at the front desk and told me her husband was having chest pains...I offered to call 911 for her and she wasn't sure..She talked to her husband and he said "NO!"

She said maybe a cab so I called one for her and then I called him and told him that the cab was going to be here soon and he said "I don't want a cab!" very forcefully...

There is not anything I can do about that... if he declines....so I canceled the cab. The wife was very anxious and I told her that at anytime we can call 911 and that they would be here quickly if he had any problems...

So a little later, they both came out to the front desk to tell me he was doing better...He was wearing a Red Sox baseball cap and had a huge smile on his face and I thought Wow he looks really happy!

AND THE REASON FOR HIS HAPPINESS......HE HAD JUST WATCHED THE RED SOX WIN THEIR BASEBALL GAME! so that is why he didn't want to go to the emergency room.....I'm glad everything turned out okay.....MEN!
