"where's that dang fly?"

I was trying to sleep yesterday for my graveyard shift...and there was a fly in my room....and I couldn't get it....

pup likes to sit on the table....

he knows how to get up...but not down...

prank phone call....

I recieved one the other night at work....it wasn't a very good one...just someone pretending to be someone else and then some foul-mouthed language at the end....



One of my favorite people, a very put together well mannered and classy senior lady asked me how I was doing and I told her that I just got a crank/prank call....



She started telling me what "they" used to do....

Call a friends mother and say:

"Your water will be turned off for a few hours this afternoon, so make sure that you fill as many containers with water as possible!"

and then they would have a good laugh when one of the mother's would actually do it....

I'm not sure.....

in my past life if:

I was a maid and subconsciously I am really sick of cleaning!

or

had a maid and subconsciously I think...who's going to clean up... because it certainly is not going to be me!

I could have been either one....I hate to clean...

my good deed for the day....

I was waiting to pull out onto a busy street...and waited a little longer when I saw a cute late 60's VW beetle coming down the street....I could have pulled out and he would have had to downshift...but knowing a good cruise speed is important in a VW...I waited..

A few minutes later....he was in a lane that needed to merge in front of me and I let him...2 good deeds....

VW people are cool....

A couple months ago....

I was talking to a SR friend at work. She had just eaten dinner and was pretty perturbed. There was a lady sitting at her table taking everyones cookies...We decided to call her the cookie monster. At the time I didn't know who "the cookie monster" was and I wondered who it was...

Just a couple days ago I was sitting in the dining room for dinner and noticed one of the ladies with a stack of white chocolate macadamia nut cookies...I thought "IS she the cookie monster?"

My friend who I was eating dinner with (who can't see) asked me if I wanted her cookie and I said "sure" but the cookie monster took it (she was sitting on the other side of her) and said "WELL THANK YOU VERY MUCH" and added it to her stack. "hey" I thought ....not wanting to cause trouble...I was just too slow.....I had to laugh at her aggressiveness...and that she will have the added calories and not me...

Now whenever I see her I say to myself...."Hey.... there's the cookie monster!"

I was driving down the street and saw my 16 year old pull out of a store parking lot with some friends at 2:30 pm .....

but school doesn't get out until 3:30.....hmmmm

and Seth walked in the kitchen and said..."I want my noodles green." I said "cool" and grabbed the green food coloring and added a couple drops...

Well........I should have taken out what I wanted before I did that.... because after I did.... I realized there was no way I was going to eat this.......

I didn't...

"Is it Sunday today?"

Luke asked...

"Yep" I said

"How come it isn't sunny?" He said

"I don't know" I said

Tomorrow I'll ask him what day it is and if it is sunny I'll ask him "why isn't it Sunday today?"....

The puppy is crazy!!!

Spazz Monkey had something in his mouth....I got it out...It was a rock! Geez are you kidding me? If he isn't chewing on a rock he is chasing his tail....If he isn't doing that, he is biting his own foot....and he just peed on my bed!

At work....

there is a wonderful Library....I haven't had to buy a book in a long time! I noticed on a bulletin board that someone left a note that she had found 3 dollars in a book and whoever told her what book it was from, she would give the the money back...

After reading several books, I found 2 crispy brand new dollars in the latest one I read. I thought Hey..WAIT a minute, someone is leaving money in the books! That is a really great idea!

a DOUGHNUT HOLE?

I have and it is pretty funny....I picked the Kindergarteners up from school today and Luke said..."Let's get some doughnuts!" I said "Wow, that is a great idea!" I love great ideas...

So we were on our way to the drive thru at Krispy Kreme and were nearing Target and Luke changed his mind and said "I want cookies instead"...having my heart set on doughnuts and the idea of quick drive thru and realizing that Luke may be tricking me into going to Target (I am getting smarter) I said "Let's get doughnuts so we don't have to get out of the car."

So he starts whining...and I am thinking this is totally ridiculous...but wanting the doughnuts instead of not getting anything...we got in line...Luke started to cry...I ordered cute doughnut holes and he cried more...

We parked the car in the shade and I ate one, handed one to Seth and then one to Luke to see what he would do...He took it, ate it while blubbering alligator tears.... I gave him another one and I took the other way home....

I want this ....

Singing Sacred Heart.....

Me and Joe have wanted to do this for a while and tonight we were able to go to our first singing lesson....

If you haven't heard of Sacred Heart Singing here is a little clip from some show....




It is so much fun, uplifting, spiritual and down to earth....

But every once in a while there will be a song that sounds like a pirate song....those are my favorites..

I'll say to Joe "That was a pirate song!"

It really fills a space inside being able to sing, not worrying about how you sound or if you hit the right note, it doesn't matter...By the end of the night I really felt apart of the group an was understanding the music better and was amazed at the 4 part harmony...If you sing the wrong note you end up probably singing one of the other notes that were supposed to be sung...anyway...

The Loveseat in the Lobby...

if it could talk, would tell many wild tales! Luckily I am there once in a while to hear what is being said on the loveseat!

I work at the front desk of a senior retirement apartment building in the high end of town....

I can usually hear everything being said because Seniors talk really loud, even when they are whispering....

Just Monday I heard..."How many pears can you eat without getting diarrhea"? "I won't eat them"......

BUT I need to be careful because I heard a Senior tell someone on the loveseat that she was going to see if her package was in....and I had it ready for her before she said anything to me...she was surprised and a little freaked out.....yikes ...I don't want them to know I hear everything or think that I am psychic.....ya know

Wild Senior Lady (WSL) and her boyfriend were sitting on the LOVESEAT...

in the lobby at work and another man walked by...

she said: "That man doesn't like me."

BF: "why not"

WSL: "I told some people at our table that his wife needed to go on a diet, and he heard me."

BF: "hmmmm" (didn't know what to say)

WSL: "Well, she is really fat!"

Funny thing is....WSL is about the same size as FL

We have PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) instead of PTA (Parent Teacher Association).

2 weeks ago....

1st day of Kindergarten

Luke didn't want to go to school today...

I asked him why and he said that he wanted to stay home and play Ratchett and Clank (video game)

I told him that if he didn't go today, Seth may learn something that he wouldn't and that it might be vital to his education...he thought about it but didn't care...

I told him that if he didn't miss any school this year he would get a certificate at the end of the year for perfect attendance....He didn't care...

I told him that he would have to stay in bed the whole time...He started caring...

So he got dressed and put his shorts on backwards...I said..."hey your shorts are on backwards"

He said he wanted them that way...I didn't push it...

He went to school...on the way, walking he filled his pockets full of rocks...it was funny watching him put rocks in his pockets that were behind him facing the other way...

AHHH laughing at your kids...... a joy of motherhood!

There is nothing funnier than watching over a hundred old people get this in their mailbox....

At work...the front desk is right by the mailboxes...I am so glad that I was there when the IKEA catalog arrived on Monday!....The Seniors were not the least interested in Ikea furniture...

I saw the puppy run down the hall with a 4 pack of toilet paper in his mouth..


I smelled the freshness of the just recently power washed front walkway and then saw that a cat just puked right in the middle of it...

I heard Seth in a Darth Vader voice say "My spaceship just ran out of gas"...while playing with Star Wars figures...

I felt like fainting in the 100 degree weather in Portland .....

Is it just me... or do you find this disturbing too?

Life is never dull....at work

I work at the front desk of a Senior Living Apartment Building..

There is one lady who never fails to deliver something shocking...I will call her WSL (Wild Senior Lady)

I was sitting eating breakfast in the dining room with some Senior friends and WSL walks up and says to one of them:

"Oh _____, your blouse is absolutely beautiful!"

The beautiful blouse lady looks down at her blouse to see which one it is and says:

"Well, Thank you!"

WSL then threatens: (she really likes the blouse)

"If you stay still, I will take it off of you!"

Beautiful blouse lady is shocked and speechless... then looks at me (I try not to laugh)

WSL walks on and all eyes roll at the table...

"Hey you guys are big boys now!"

I said this to the 5 year olds as I was putting clothes away in their dresser...and added...

"and I don't want you to take all these clothes out and throw them on the floor anymore."

Luke then said: "We aren't big boys, we are still little boys!"

Okay so is that how it is going to be?

"Can I borrow your suitcase?"

We bought Carson a really nice suitcase this Summer when he went to California...

We were driving around in the car today...and I asked him if I could borrow it for the cruise we are going on in a couple days...

He said "sure" and right then and there pulled the keys to it out of his pocket....

He had the keys in his pocket...it was so funny and sweet!

I said, "Thanks!"
